Bradner Gardens Park…where community grows
Alpine strawberries are white when ripe and have an interesting taste.
They are tiny but very prolific.
We have a bunch growing at the south end of the south p-patch next to Phoebe’s food bank plot. Many are growing in the pathway of the plot and need a new home.
So if you want to try growing some in your plot, carefully dig up some. While you are there, give them a taste: pick them when they are about the size of a dime. Remember they will be white, but they are tasty if you pick several and then pop them into your mouth. They just keep pumping out strawberries all summer long.
Joyce will show them to anybody who comes to help with the food bank harvesting.
